All-Natural Wax Blend (Soy, Coconut & Beeswax) 💫 FSC-Certified Crackling Wood Wicks 💫 Toxin-Free Fragrance Oil 💫 40-45h Burn Time 💫

We love a cozy glow (and a good-smelling room) as much as anyone, but candles and diffusers, even the cute, non-toxic ones need a little attention. Our natural candles with wood wicks are designed for slow, clean burns, and our reed diffusers are made for effortless, flameless fragrance, but a few good habits go a long way in keeping things safe and satisfying. Whether you’re a candle connoisseur, a diffuser devotee, or just here for the vibes, this guide will help you scent smart and get the most out of every burn, flip, and sniff.

how to burn a candle properly

1. Let it pool:
The first time you light your candle, let it burn long enough for the top layer of wax to fully melt to the edges. This prevents tunneling and helps your candle burn evenly, all the way down.

2. Trim the wick:
Before each burn, trim your wooden wick to about ¼ inch. This keeps the flame clean, steady, and soot-free — no mushrooming or mega flames here.

3. Watch it (literally):
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it on a heat-safe surface, away from anything flammable, drafty, or wobbly. That includes pets, kids, and any rogue curtains trying to join the party.

4. Don’t burn it dry:
When there’s less than ½ inch of wax left, it’s time to stop. Burning past that point risks overheating the container — and no one wants a scorched tabletop.

how to use a diffuser

1. Pop the reeds in & wait:
Insert the reeds into the bottle and let them soak up that good stuff for about 20 minutes.

2. Flip them (but not too often):
After the first soak, flip the reeds to get that scent flowing. For max scent strength, flip once a week or more if you're feeling fancy. Just do it over a sink or towel while covering the bottle label. Trust us.

3. Place it smartly:
Keep your diffuser in a spot with light airflow like a hallway, bathroom, or desk. Anywhere with a good amount of movement will help distribute the scent. Make sure to keep away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can dry it out faster.

4. Let it live its life:
Our diffusers are slow burners (well, metaphorically). You’ll get about 4-5 months of fragrance magic per bottle depending on the room and air circulation.

5. Refill or recycle:
When it’s done, reuse the bottle or send it off to the great recycling bin in the sky. Just no dumping the remaining oil down the drain. It’s safe, but your pipes aren’t into aromatherapy.

reuse, refill, or recycle

Because cute tins deserve a second life. Your Bask Hour candle jars aren’t just adorable, they’re reusable. Once your candle has burned its last flame, here’s how to keep things sustainable:

Scoop & compost any leftover wax (our natural blend plays nice with the earth).

Clean the tin with hot water and a paper towel — skip the soap to avoid buildup.

Repurpose it for cotton swabs, hair clips, push pins, tea bags, or your secret snack stash.

Get creative: Melt your leftovers into wax melts or combine scents into something new.

Every reused container is one less thing in the landfill and one more excuse to buy another candle.
